“Disembark on the left,” the speakers say at the end of the clip. I think this short video, which I shot on a goregous spring day in Berlin this past May, can stand in as my triple congratulations: 1) to German Chancellor Angela Merkel for the CDU victories in the recent German elections, 2) to the estimatable Barack Obama for his having prevailed, unwittingly and like the receipient of a MacArthur “Genius Grant,” in the Nobel Peace Prize voting, and 3) to all the readers and writers of this blog for having survived another week!
